Care Philosophy:  

Matthew Greer, MD, who is originally from northern Arizona, is passionate about making world-class cancer care accessible to all of his patients. He strives to accomplish this by partnering with patients to find personalized and effective treatment strategies for each unique situation. 

Medical Specialty:  

Dr. Greer is a radiation oncologist and treats patients with all forms of cancer as well as some benign conditions. He is experienced in delivering external beam radiation including advanced techniques of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) as well as direct application of internal radiation (brachytherapy). He initially joined NAH from his previous position as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona. 

Professional Achievements:  

Dr. Greer grew up in St. Johns, AZ, and received his medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. During medical school, he pursued a research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute where he researched advanced applications of artificial intelligence to magnetic resonance imaging in prostate cancer. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, where he served as chief resident and received grant funding to characterize and improve barriers to cancer care for Native American communities.   

Additionally, Dr. Greer is board certified in radiation oncology from the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).
