"Radiation oncology combines meaningful patient care during a difficult time with high-tech, sophisticated and personalized treatment. I recognize that the words radiation and oncology are both scary on their own, so hearing them together can create a lot of anxiety. My goal is to demystify the treatment and guide each patient through the experience in a way that feels less frightening."
Care Philosophy:
Christopher Morrison, MD, PhD, takes a calm, patient-centered approach to care, spending more time listening than talking. He believes that clear communication and guidance can ease the fear that often comes with a cancer diagnosis, and he works closely with each patient to help them understand their treatment every step of the way.
Medical Specialty:
Dr. Morrison previously focused his practice on head and neck and skin cancers, central nervous system tumors and sarcomas, while maintaining expertise in treating all other body sites with radiation, including the most common cancers in adults like breast, lung and prostate cancer.
Professional Achievements:
Dr. Morrison earned his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from the University of Arizona and completed his radiation oncology residency through the University of Arizona Banner University Medical Center. He completed his transitional year internship at the Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program. He is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology and licensed by the Arizona Medical Board.
