Cristina Tapia, MD, believes that the best care begins with understanding the whole person and what matters most to them. She practices evidence-based medicine while partnering with patients to develop realistic, sustainable approaches to health. She is committed to fostering a compassionate and judgment-free environment where patients feel comfortable, informed and actively involved as they work toward meaningful health goals. 

Medical Specialty:   

Dr. Tapia is a board-certified family medicine physician who is passionate about caring for individuals and families across generations. She completed additional focused training in women's and adolescent health during residency, including procedures such as colposcopy, IUD placement with pain management options to support patient comfort and Nexplanon insertion. Her clinical interests also include preventive care, mental health, and menopause and perimenopause management. As a bilingual physician, she provides care in both English and Spanish. 

Professional Achievements:  

Dr. Tapia earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine and completed her residency training with a focus on maternal and adolescent health at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista Family Medicine Residency in southern California. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Hispanic Medical Association. She was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of her compassion, dedication and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
