EXPERTISE AND SPECIAL INTERESTS
Dr. Martin has passion for helping others. His expertise includes assessing, preparing and treating patients who are planning on having or who have had bariatric surgery. He is experienced in facilitating weight loss support groups and helping patients gain important knowledge about their health, the surgeries they are considering or recently had. His special interests lie in behavioral medicine/health psychology, bariatrics and psychophysiology.
Prior to joining FMC, Dr. Martin worked as a senior clinical psychologist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinic’s Medical and Surgical Weight Management Program.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Dr. Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.; and his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from McGill University in Montréal, Province of Quebec, Canada.
Dr. Martin is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an affiliate member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
