Lea brings extensive knowledge of both common and rare health conditions. She received specialized training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in medical and biochemical genetics, autoimmune disorders and neurological conditions.
Professional Achievements:
Lea earned her master’s degree in advanced practice nursing from Arizona State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from Northern Arizona University. She was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and later transferred to the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), serving nearly two decades at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. In 2021, she retired as captain from the USPHS and returned to Arizona, where she worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix before joining Northern Arizona Healthcare. Throughout her career, Lea has received numerous awards and is a contributing author of several NIH publications.
