Medical Specialty:

Lea brings extensive knowledge of both common and rare health conditions. She received specialized training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in medical and biochemical genetics and neurological conditions.

Professional Achievements:

Lea holds a master’s degree and is certified as an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner from Arizona State University, along with a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from Northern Arizona University. She began her career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy before transferring to the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), where she served for nearly two decades at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Rising to the rank of captain, she retired from USPHS in 2021 and returned to Arizona, where she worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix before joining Northern Arizona Healthcare. Throughout her career, Lea has earned numerous honors and contributed to several NIH publications.
