Peter D. Gibson, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, with the Orthopedic & Spine Institute.

Dr. Gibson is an expert in general orthopedic trauma care as well as all aspects of hand surgery, including microvascular, fracture and nerve repair surgery. He also performs shoulder arthroplasty.
Education and Certification
Dr. Gibson earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine in Richmond, Va., and his bachelor’s of science degree in Biology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo. He completed a hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery fellowship at The Hand Center of San Antonio in San Antonio.
Philosophy
Dr. Gibson believes collaboration between patient, surgeon, primary care provider and therapist allows for the most optimal solution to complex problems of the elbow, wrist and hand.
