Having completed training and professional advancement across Canada, New Zealand and the United States, Stephen Faulkner, MD, has a care philosophy rooted in compassion and shaped by his background in gastrointestinal medicine and general surgery.

Medical Specialty:

With more than 20 years of experience in general surgery, Stephen Faulkner, MD, specializes in minimally invasive surgery, advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, and gastrointestinal surgery. Dr. Faulkner has performed thousands of laparoscopic cholecystectomies (a surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder), hernia repairs, colonoscopies, and endoscopies.

Professional Achievements:

Dr. Faulkner earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He completed his residency at the University of British Columbia in Canada after an internship at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. He also completed a fellowship in hepatobiliary surgery and specialty training in hepatobiliary surgery, laparoscopy, endoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

    I saw Dr Faulkner through a referral from my primary care physician. He confirmed my doctor's initial diagnosis and said there was only one procedure available to remedy the problem. He did not provide very specific description of the procedure or pros/cons of the procedure. I scheduled the out patient procedure but received little information regarding preparation, cost estimate, timing or what the procedure entails.

    Dr. Faulkner and his staff are excellent, they took extra precaution to make sure I had no extra problems because of my condition, I'm very grateful to Dr. Faulkner for his care. I would recommend him to everyone.
